Leading the Recycling of Used Absorbent Hygiene Products

At P&G we have sustainability in mind when innovating our products: Pampers is the world’s first nappy brand to use new advanced technology to recycle used nappies to high value applications. The technology is already operational at industrial scale in Italy. It can clean, sanitize, dry and separate post-use absorbent hygiene products, into the three components of plastics, cellulose, and absorbing material, creating Secondary Raw Materials which become input for new products or industrial processes. For example, these materials can be used to make bottle caps, bio-materials, or diaper bins. P&G is committed to expand this to many more markets including the UK.
